I’m here!
So, I made it.
I’m officially moved into my apartment in Dalseong, Daegu. I went to Da Sa Middle School today and met the Principal, Vice Principal, and the other English teachers I will be working with.
My co-teacher was amazingly helpful and nice, and she and another awesome Da Sa Faculty member kindly helped move me in and get me settled.
When I initially discovered that I was in “Dalseong” (one of the more suburban districts of Daegu) I was a bit worried and disappointed. But now that I’m here, I don’t feel like I’m in a rural area at all! There are like 15 million restaurants within walking distance of my apartment, there’s a PC Bang (which is how I’m using the internet right now), and there are tons of shops.
When I first moved in a few hours ago, I got kind of sad and depressed and was feeling really isolated, but now, with the exception of the terror I feel about teaching tomorrow, I’m feeling really good!
